Today's episode is an honest look into a current crossroads that I am experiencing and decided to share with you. As you already know, I had a baby at the start of quarantine. Here's the honest truth: I emerged from my postpartum quarantine a different person than who went in. I have spent the last four months protecting my peace in as many ways as possible. I have found the courage to create boundaries with things, people and experiences in my life. Today's episode discusses what that means further. It also acts as permission for you to do the same. There is no one who will support you better than you can support yourself when you recognize that you've lost your sense of self. I know what it feels like to look in the mirror and no longer recognize yourself because you've created an identity that's so heavily influenced by everyone else. I'm not telling you to release your identity or those priorities. So many of us think that failing at something is a sign that we weren't supposed to do the thing we know we were called for. We quit before we have our breakthrough because we didn't think we were ready or good enough. That's not the case. This motivational minute is a reminder to you to change the channel, not the message when things go south. And then you turn around and ask already-insecure people what they think you should be doing. You're looking in the wrong direction. They're just feeding your insecurities.

When you have big goals in life, you have to recognize that they won't happen easily. If you're not up for the struggle, you will quit. Learning to embrace the suck and become mentally strong is the most powerful tool you can have in your toolkit. It's the reason I can look at a challenge that scares others and welcome it. I'm launching a coaching business, growing my influence through podcasting and writing while working full-time as an HR Manager and married mom of three kids under 6. I get asked often why I choose to put myself under this pressure when life seems to be good enough for me today. Today's episode will answer that question.
