What if there's more going on than we can see?  We believe in what we can see. What we can measure, explain, diagnose and understand.

But the Bible describes a world that is both physical and spiritual—angels deliver messages, unseen battles unfold, miracles interrupt the laws of nature, and Jesus speaks with complete authority over storms, sickness, demons and even death.

So why do we sometimes live as though the visible world is the only one that’s real?

In this episode, Laurie explores what Scripture says about the spiritual realm—not to look for a demon behind every bush, but to ask whether we’ve allowed our modern worldview to become smaller than the biblical one. What might change about the way we pray, face fear, understand temptation and walk through difficult circumstances if we truly believed there may be more happening than we can see?

Maybe we need the prayer Elisha prayed for his servant: “Lord, open his eyes so that he may see.”

The woman at the well left her water jar. The disciples left their nets. Abraham laid Isaac on the altar. Yet the jar, the nets, and even Isaac were not bad things—and some were placed back into their hands. Following Jesus does not always mean walking away from our work, our dreams, or the people and things we love. Sometimes surrender simply changes our grip. We still work, build, love, plan, and hope, but we stop asking those things to provide the security only God can give. We hold them with gratitude instead of grasping them with fear, remembering that everything entrusted to us ultimately belongs to Him.

Betrayal is a broad subject, but it is not a random one for me right now.
