Frank and Ryan react to Thor: Love & Thunder fresh out of theatre, forgive the audio quality, Frank had to do this one on his laptop no mic.

On this episode of Meanwhile! Kristina, Taco and Ryan I compare notes on our all time top 3 poorly adapted characters from comic to screen. some are funny, some are shocking, and some are just down right controversial. And with all the buzz online around Fantastic Four this past week, we thought it would be fun for all of us to do a Fantastic Four dream cast. Wait till you hear who Taco picked for The Thing....this is going to be a good one.

With today's biggest talking points being cameos, leaks, spoilers. Some of our culture's biggest content creators and the super fan media have sadly focused largely on the novel and turned away from the substance and science of good story telling. Unknowingly contributing to the subsequent dumbing down of geek kind.  We'll share our observations and discuss what you the listener can do to combat this and diversify your diet. From there we discuss the apparent return of Natalie Portman to the world of Star Wars and the role of Padme Amidala, we'll explore possible story ideas, examine the merit of a prequel post Obi-Wan Kenobi, and pitch a few story ideas of our own. All this and so much more on this episode of Meanwhile Back On The Podcast.

Coming up on todays show! The meanwhile crew tries to answer the question why was Morbius brought back into theatres and what exactly lead to it's attempt at a redemptive resurrection?

From there we'll take a look at the super fan media space, sites like CBR, Comicbook.com and other sites and publishers of their kind and what role their interchangeable single note click bait headlines for casting announcements of actors that are POC, women, or members of the LGBTQIA+ might be playing in the polarization of the debate around inclusivity and diversity in super fan media.

And last but not least, we'll discuss fan fatigue. With several streaming services consistently new content almost weekly, and the big three franchises, Star Wars and Marvel and DC with more to come. We ask the question is it just to much? And what does it mean if it is? All this and so much more on this episode of Meanwhile Back On The Podcast.

After we published a short conversation about the Depp V Heard trial in Ep. 127, we got overwhelming feedback from listeners that you wanted us to do an episode on the verdict. Well, we aim to please. So, Ryan, Kristina, and Frank hit the pod and had a lot to say about it. Kristina especially....we recorded this episode only a few days after the verdict was announced and unfortunately, due to a technical glitch, this episode is only getting published now.

BUT! True to the Meanwhile brand, our team did their best to see all the little nuances of both sides of the conversation. None of us were Depp or Heard super fans, so we can confidently say we did our absolute best to call this down the middle. Beyond the trial, we wanted to explore what this historic case meant for the future of cancel culture. Is this the end of it, does this civil verdict set a precedent? We hope you will join us for this important conversation.
