In Israel, only men were priests. They had weekly and daily rituals to perform and there were many limitations on what they could do. Although these rituals were not required by women, many Hebrews believe that women were prophets and judges because they had a natural connection to God. This “natural connection” allowed them to remain close to God without daily or weekly sanctification rituals.
Looking at the basics of why men and women were created, it makes logical sense why men needed regular consecration. Much of the responsibility for the family’s defense was placed upon men in historic times. Males were created with greater physical strength because their job was to conquer enemies and protect the family. This means they are genetically wired to get the job done on their own. The Bible sees it this way:
For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, His body, and is Himself its Savior. (Ephesians 5:23 ESV)
The constant pressure to guide and lead the family can cause men (husbands) to slip into self-effort quite easily. It can be challenging to let God lead and rely upon Him under this pressure. On the other hand, most women are relationship-driven. Most had to depend upon men for protection or provision.
Then the LORD God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” (Genesis 2:18 ESV)
It may not be kosher to say in this day and age, but women were designed to be with men, to help alongside them. This makes having a relationship with an unseen God more natural for the majority of the female gender. Though women will benefit from consecration and sanctification, men need this on a regular basis to remain close to God.
Before men take up positions in the Body of Christ, they must be prepared through consecration and sanctification. The Lord spoke to me, confirming that He called Isaac as a prophet. In order for him to step into that position, he needed to undergo preparation. He has been in a process of setting himself aside for God; this is the definition of consecration and sanctification, therefore, Isaac led the online meeting concerning this topic. Here are a few things he has learned along the way which may help men and women who wish to work for the Kingdom of Heaven.
