NSL 2025 Preview

At the start of a bold new era for the Netball Super League, Lindsey Chapman catches up with a host of faces from across the competition, starting with Nottingham Forest Netball Head Coach Chelsea Pitman. Chelsea shares an insight into the culture she’s working to build at the club and tells us exactly which match-up she is most looking forward to in NSL 2025!

Lindsey then sits down with two international players who are both joining the Netball Super League this year: London Mavericks’ defender Chelsea Blackman and new club Birmingham Panthers’ shooter Gabby Sinclair. Chelsea and Gabby discuss the introduction of the Super Shot and how it changes and challenges their decision making in the last five minutes of each quarter and also reveal what we can expect from each of their squads as they take to court this season.

Finally, Lindsey chats to Managing Director of the NSL, Claire Nelson, who gives the inside scoop on what the final preparations have looked like as we get closer to the start of the season and explains exactly how we can all be a part of making this new era of the Netball Super League a success.

After a busy day full of exciting announcements revealing each club’s squad for the 2025 Netball Super League (NSL) season, Lindsey Chapman speaks to each club’s Head Coach to find out more about how they built their brand-new squads.

Featuring interviews with Sam Bird, Vic Burgess, Karen Greig, Camilla Buchanan, Liana Leota and Jo Trip as well as new NSL coaches Chelsea Pitman and Reinga Bloxham, Courtside Podcast gives NSL fans a rare insight into the recruitment strategies of each team.

Wondering what NSL 2025 will look like? Talking through all the headlines, Lindsey and Claire discuss how the competition is going fewer, bigger, better with exciting new club owners and investment models, the ambition for at least 50% of games to be played in arenas in 2025, an increase in players’ salaries and the ability for fans to watch all games. You’ll also find out how a reduction in teams and squad sizes will create a more competitive League and gain an insight into the process that has taken place to bring the League to this exciting moment.

As the regular season of the Netball Super League 2024 hits its halfway mark, Lindsey Chapman reflects with Vitality Roses Head Coach Jess Thirlby on the highlights of the season so far, before discussing what fans should be looking out for as the second half of the season gets underway.

 

They are joined by Hali Adio and Amy Carter who give NSL fans an insight into their respective seasons, including how London Pulse and Manchester Thunder have learnt from any losses so far and the big matches they’ve got their eyes set on in the second half of the season that make up their potential paths to the semi-finals!

It’s Netball World Cup Eve and in our final episode before the competition gets underway Lindsey speaks to two Vitality Roses who have enjoyed incredible domestic seasons down in Australia – Eleanor Cardwell and Helen Housby.
