Even when we are desperately broken, it is still fitting to praise the Lord. He heals us, binding our wounds. He provides for those who fear him. He fulfills those who believe in him.

When you take a moment to reflect on your life, what eats at you? How have you asked the Lord to handle these problems?

Why do we need some rules and truths repeated? Would you say you forget anything about God in your thoughts and habits? The poet urges us to remember our God's character, because his steadfast love truly endures forever without fail.

The writer or Psalm 66 invites us three times to remember who God is and what he has done, because though Christians do suffer, they are equipped for suffering. More than anyone else, Christians can appeal to the gospel out of our pain.

Praise the Lord every day for the marvelous God he is. Revel in his mighty works generation after generation. Think about the stories you tell, the facts you repeat to others. Which of them truly matter?

When reality is hard, let's seek refuge in our Lord and rejoice at his mighty work.

The church of God stands amid a distracted world, singing loudly to the giant rock of their salvation. How awesome! And yet there's an offensive truth that makes this possible.

John Newton disliked how popular Handel's "Messiah" was in his day. Londoners loved to sing of God's judgment on the world, but Newton knew they never considered their own souls. Why would King David command his soul to bless the Lord?

Psalm 98 calls on Christians to constantly renew our praise, because God's character is worth shouting about. "His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him." Have we grown bored with God's marvelous works?
