Throughout the history of the Jewish people God made covenants to separate us from the nations around us. Every covenant has aspects that are conditional and include the peoples participation but God's part of covenant never depends on the peoples participation. When God makes covenants he keeps them because he makes them forever even if we keep failing at keeping our part.
