This week Nick continues our series looking at the life of Daniel. Although an exile in Babylon, Daniel is able to develop a resilient faith that enables him to thrive. How does he navigate the culture he finds himself in with wisdom despite the threat of death? How do we stay resilient in our faith, cultivate wisdom and make good decisions?

Nick starts our first series of 2023 'Resilient Faith', taking a deep dive into the book of Daniel.

As a young man, Daniel was taken from his country and grew up in a culture that attempted to eradicate his faith.

How did Daniel demonstrate Resilient Faith? It began with staying faithful to his identity in God.

History and the Bible are full of stories of God renewing the life of his people and their communities through the power of His Holy Spirit. What can we learn from these, and how can we prepare for this in our own lives?
Paul Stokes (guest speaker) is the Director of the Dunamis Fellowship in Britain & Ireland and Academic Dean for the Dunamis Institute. He co-authored the book ‘Growing the Church in the Power of the Holy Spirit' and has 30 years experience as a Minister. His vision is to see individuals and churches equipped to cooperate with the Holy Spirit through the Dunamis teaching.

Nadine & Ian share stories about their work with CAP across our city and encourage all of us in what Jesus has called us to.
CAP (Christians Against Poverty) exists to help people who are in debt or in danger of falling into debt. The centre in Coventry is run by Ian Burton & Nadine Temple, who support people to become debt free and to be able to organise their money in the best way for their individual situation. Often clients are in ‘chronic’ debt (meaning debt that is escalating, is proving unmanageable, is causing sleepless nights and a deterioration in family relationships). Our heart is to do what Jesus called us all to do in Luke 4 and to release the oppressed and in doing so share Jesus' compassion and truth.

Mark Harbour finishes our 'Invitation to a Journey' sermon series, speaking on how Spiritual Formation is not a solo exercise but that we are in this together as companions on the way.

Jesus engaged in spiritual disciplines. He prayed, read scripture, fasted, feasted, served others, worshipped, took naps! He never seemed to be in a hurry and always seemed to be more interested in the journey of inner transformation that people were on.
