Dr. Arghavan Salles discusses traveling to New York to aid in the care of COVID-19 patients in a temporary intensive care unit. She also discusses how the setup was different from ICUs prior to the pandemic. With host Dr. Rena Malik, she explores the impact of providing care in this situation on the mental health of providers.

In addition, they discuss how gender issues in sizing of personal protective equipment may impact the ability of healthcare workers to find appropriate equipment.

Dr. Salles is a Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgeon and expert in gender bias in surgery. She is currently a Scholar in Residence at Stanford University.
