People can be exposed to lead from their homes and their jobs. Lead can be found in chipping paint and dust, dirt outside or toys, jewelry and other products inside. The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program works to protect Kansas City residents from the dangers of lead exposure by providing blood lead testing for children and pregnant women, case management for lead poisoned children, community education, product testing, lead hazard identification and home repair for qualified families.
