Welcome to Cozy Afternoon Walk — a short pause in your day to sit with Scripture, one verse at a time.
Today's passage: Romans 6:13-14
"Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace." (NIV)
A knife doesn't decide what it's used for — the hand around it does. Paul says our bodies work the same way, offered every day to someone, whether we notice it or not. The trouble is we rarely stop to ask whose hand is already there — a glance, a word, a small excuse, each one quietly claimed before we think to question it. This episode is an invitation to open your hand again today, and let it be filled by the one who already raised you.
This episode is part of our season through Romans. New devotionals added regularly.
