Cozy Storytime

A Storytime Classic retold from Beatrix Potter's original. Peter Rabbit's cousin Benjamin leads him back into Mr. McGregor's garden to fetch Peter's lost jacket and shoes, with a basket of onions, a sleepy cat and a long, quiet wait. A gentle old-fashioned tale that grows slower and sleepier toward the end.

It's Halloween in Cozyland, and Shimmer, Frankie, Patches and Whiskers set off in costume through the Whispering Woods. At every cozy door a kind neighbor has a treat and a little surprise, and the friends save one treat from each for the empty bowl at home. A gentle, giggly Halloween story that grows slower and sleepier toward the end, perfect for bedtime.

What makes a gift just right? Shimmer the Unicorn has an idea: a secret gift exchange where nobody picks their own. Shimmer and Frankie visit Bella the Bunny's garden for Sweet Sugar Stalks and make a one-of-a-kind storybook with Sage the Owl in the Cozy Library. Patches and Whiskers find a honey-colored stone in the Bubble-Blowing River and a sleeping Moon Blossom by Glitter Pond.

When the moon comes up, the friends gather on the cloud floor of the Treehouse of Clouds to share their gifts (and a few pink hiccup bubbles), then drift off to sleep as the Moon Blossom begins to glow. A warm story about thoughtfulness, sharing, and friendship.

Get cozy, Cozyfans. It's time for a story full of surprises.

What would you do if you found a rabbit-sized gap under a garden gate? Peter Rabbit's mother tells him to stay out of Mr. McGregor's garden, but Peter slips under the gate anyway for lettuces, French beans, and radishes. Soon he's dashing between the rows, wiggling free of a gooseberry net with a little help from some friendly sparrows, and hiding in a watering can in the tool shed. Without his blue jacket and shoes, he has to find his own way back to the gate.

At last Peter hops home to the burrow under the big fir tree, where Mother tucks him into bed with a cup of chamomile tea while Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail have bread and milk and blackberries for supper. A gentle bedtime retelling of Beatrix Potter's classic, part of our Storytime Classics.

What would you put in an empty pouch? When Shimmer the Unicorn's purple cousin Sparkle comes to visit Cozyland, the two unicorns set off on a rainbow hunt: one small treasure for every color, found before the sun goes down. They search the Whispering Woods and the Bubble-Blowing River for something red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Sparkle has plenty of silly ideas along the way (rubies? a candle flame? an alligator?), and when it's time for violet, she tries to climb into the pouch herself.

As the stars come out, the cousins lay their tiny rainbow on a blanket and drift off to sleep side by side. A gentle story about colors, family, and laughing together.
