We LOVE control, or at least the idea of it. We love to call the shots, make the decisions, and question other people’s decisions. We know what’s best for us at home, and work, and in our future. If I am in control, everything will go according to plan. BUT…what if we are wrong?
Proverbs 19:21 “Many plans are in a person’s heart, but the Lord’s decree will prevail.”
Control is an illusion, the reality is that most of our life is spent trying to be in control when we never were. Honestly, we were never meant to be in control. Jesus is in control, and you and I are NOT JESUS! So if you want to gain control, the key is not to experience more of you…you need more of Him and his wisdom!

Our world and our culture has always loved to co-opt the message of the gospel. There has always been a passion to speak something that sounds good and even sounds like scripture. Have you ever heard "God helps those who help themselves." "Hate the sin, love the sinner." "Money is the root of all evil." “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” Would it surprise you to learn that none of these are in the Bible, and that they are each twisting or shallowing theology in a way that is robbing us of God’s beautiful truth. There are so many areas of our life where the world has taken the message captive, and it’s time we take it BACK!
