Horkins Harbor is hosting Ripley & MacReady’s Autumnal Carnival this year which only schedules appearances every 6 years. The townsfolk are excited to welcome the carnival back for its tenth visit. People everywhere are replaying their favorite memories and experiences of the past. The height of buzz and excitement is only countered by the tentpoles of the main tent set up on the edge of town. The tantalizing blue and gold stripes of the tent evoke wonder from the young and nostalgia from the old. Opening night comes and goes as do many happy patrons. As the weeks progress, the joy and fever pitch only increase along with student and employee absences. Doesn’t everyone deserve a day off for the carnival though?
