    It's easy to miss the William Miller Sperry Observatory as you drive around town. After all, it's deep within the campus of Union County College. Every Friday night, a group interested in the skies above Cranford gather there to look at the Moon, planets and stars. Amateur Astronomers, Inc. makes their telescopes available to the public as one part of their multifaceted outreach. President Mary Ducca, Vice President Aaron Zuckerman and member Jim Nordhausen talked to Cranford Radio about AAI and how they promote an interest in the science of astronomy.

  • Cranford Dramatic Club Presenting 'A Christmas Carol'
    If your yearly fix of A Christmas Carol is Mr. Magoo playing Ebenezer Scrooge, you should check out a much different style this December at the Cranford Dramatic Club. They'll be presenting a musical version of the play with all of the familiar characters as well as a few different ones. Cranford Radio was joined by a number of cast members to talk about the performance.     While not unprecedented, having a husband and wife jointly share a pulpit in a Conservative Jewish congregation is unusual. Temple Beth El Mekor Chayim is now being led by Rabbis Neil Tow and Rachel Schwartz. The two took on their duties in Cranford at the end of July. They sat down with Cranford Radio at the Temple to discuss their new roles and their early impressions of Cranford.

  • Cranford Municipal Alliance: 21 Means 21
    You've probably seen the signs around town, 21 Means 21. They're part of an effort by a group of volunteers and organizations called the Cranford Municipal Alliance. It's their goal to fight alcohol use by minors through educational efforts for children, teens and their parents.
    Bill Ilaria serves as the chairman of the alliance and he spoke with Cranford Radio to talk about the organization's work.
