Here is the US Gran Prix Race Redux I promised. You can see the first one, which combines some other events here. I wanted to concentrate more on cyclocross racing in this video. Thanks again to the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers for the great sound track.
If you like the our Cyclocross movies be sure to get a copy of the DVD. You will really enjoy the higher resolution video and audio.

  • Kruger's Crossing Cyclocross Race
SAUVIE ISLAND, Ore.- Not much racing on this video just a few shots that caught my eye from Kruger's Farm cyclocross race. I spent most of my time enjoying the crisp fall day with my son and watching him in the kiddy cross race. After a foot of rainfall the month before I had to get out and enjoy days like this.
The dry weather was not enough to clear the slog, though. Many of the racers spent more time on foot becuase the mud was so thik and sticky it would clog their tires. I even saw one of the riders run the course with a toddler bike. She might have even bombed down one of the pavement hills. Perhaps her next stop this evening is zoo bomb (see blog http://www.crankmychain.com for bonus video.)

  • ABATE Motorbicycle Toy Run
PORTLAND, Ore. - This site usually concerns itself with chains cranked by humans not engines.
But when I heard the clatter of motorbikes roar though the land
I sprang from the house with my camera in hand.
I saw outlaws and lawyers on choppers and trikes
and watched as they filled two city buses with toys for the tykes.
Then, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a chopped up hog, with Mrs. Claus on the rear.
With a white bearded driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
And to know that it was done to help the children at Shriners
Made the noisy spectacle all the more finer.
Yes, thousands of Harleys was a sight that was great
And we can all tip our hat to the folks from A.B.A.T.E.

  • Now is the time for Progessive Cyclists to Act
Anywhere, USA -- Congratulations, our nation has moved away from toxic one-party rule. George Bush today is calling for energy independence for national security reasons. I couldn't agree more and what better way to achieve that then on a bicycle. Bush is also a cyclist. Perhaps we can convince him to pay more then just lip service and build a National Bikeway System.
This is not bike related, but we must also repeal the recently adopted Military Commissions Act, which does away with Habeas Corpus. Tell your representatives in DC that the reversal of this is essential to our liberty!
Let's enjoy this victory of democracy and use the momentum to pedal towards to better tomorrow.
