Caribou Ranch in Nederland, Colorado, which was home to a studio owned by producer James Guercio until it burned down in 1985, is for sale. $48.5 million will get you 1700 acres. Among the more than 150 artists who recorded there are Elton John, Chicago, Deep Purple, Joe Walsh, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Steely Dan, Stephen Stills, Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty.
Nine Inch Nails are scoring the upcoming third Tron movie, Tron: Ares. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the band -- officially the duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross -- was announced as the creators of the snippets of the score heard during a preview of the film Friday at Disney's D23 Expo. Described as the "Ultimate Disney fan event," D23 was held over the weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center.
