Consider this question:

  • What BENEFITS do you get from your crappy habit:
    • a dopamine hit?
  • numbing uncomfortable emotions?
  • avoiding pain?
  • something to look forward to?
  • a crutch in social settings?
  • a way to relax?
  • an escape?
