If you’ve ever seen an influencer flying first class or posting from a luxury hotel while tagging a specific brand, chances are they were on a brand trip. But what are brand trips and press trips actually like behind the scenes? In this episode, I’m breaking down the difference between press trips and brand trips, who gets invited, and what kind of coverage is expected by the attendees. Drawing from my experience as both a magazine editor and a content creator, I’m sharing stories from trips I’ve been on to Las Vegas, Detroit, Cincinnati, and more and what changed when I went from covering these trips as a journalist to attending them as a creator. If you’re curious about how brand trips work, how creators get invited, and what you promise the brand (officially or unofficially) when you accept an invitation to join a press trip, this episode has all the details.

A note: Because of my laptop dying I didn’t get to touch on the Miami trip in the episode! This was a press trip organized for the Miami Design District and this cool parking garage/art installation that they were unveiling. We stayed at The Standard, had lots of free time and I got to interview the artists involved in the project. Check out my article linked for more!
