There are a lot of choices we have every day when it comes to eating healthy, intentional movement, sleeping well, and daily mindset.
There is nothing more rewarding than getting noticed by people we care about (i.e., spouse, children, close friends, coworkers, etc.).
But unfortunately, our good deed of living healthy comes at a cost.
And that cost is living a healthy lifestyle in the nooks and crannies of our day.
Change starts in the shadows.
So let's chat about the real problem.
You want a reaction from an action that cannot be seen.
Your daily choices may not be noticed for weeks to months (i.e., losing weight, toning, eating healthy meals, etc.).
And then, all of sudden, your hard work is noticed without any regard to the daily choices you had to make.
Change starts in the shadows.
I went to run some errands yesterday, and a non-for-profit was asking for donations. Since I gave a donation, he asked if I wanted a receipt. And it was interesting how the young man framed me getting a receipt. It was about me giving to a cause, not the amount given.
We do the same thing with change. We want the change that's been made to stand out and be noticed.
Our receipt for our actions is a reaction. We want to be noticed, recognized for our hard endeavors.
But in all honesty, that just doesn't happen like we wish it would.
So how do you keep moving forward in the shadows when you know you have to make a change?
It's all in the little things. The little things matter.
The K.I.S.S. ~ The little things matter! What you do every day creates your now. So let's look at those little things.
- INVEST in little actions to create big rewards. What you do in the moment sets you up for greater impact.
- PERSEVERE because you can. Anyone can live in "excuse-land". You are created for more. So persevere because you can. "One step at a time leads to miles of greatness." ~ Kristianne Wargo
- Let the people you love OFF THE HOOK. Meaning that your success is not dependent on their reactions to your actions.
It's super hard to make a change in your life. But nothing is impossible.
Keep your eyes focused on your own actions and the reactions will come in time as a bonus.
