The U.S. Department of Labor found employers who embraced disability saw a 90% increase in employee retention. With October being National Disability Employment Awareness Month its time to bring attention to the importance of hiring individuals with disabilities. To accomplish this goal I enlisted the assistance of Michael Lafears . Lafears is a diversity, equity and inclusion expert who spent some time working in Corporate America at Walmart, he’s a published author, served in the Army National Guard and acted as the head coach for Jr. NFL Flag Football while also mentoring Youth. His commitment to inclusion and diversity is superior and he joined me for a conversation about the importance of creating an inclusive culture at work.
