Following part one of our two-part series, the Stand Out Be You Podcast continues discussing relationships and love with Rockie Lee.
As an expert in marriage counseling, couples therapy, and coaching, Rockie follows his first insight-packed segment with additional advice and knowledge on how to get married.
Listen to this episode to learn why there’s real hope for genuine love in your life—no matter what your story is!
Ninety percent of marriages out there do not have a long-term vision of what their marriage looks like…I’m talking about what kinds of attitudes and behaviors do we want to not accept or accept in our marriage, that’s a vision. In the midst of conflict, how are we going to handle that? How do I see my wife right now versus in the midst of conflict? These visions are what keep us on track when things look really cloudy.
If you’re a romantic at heart, you’ll probably scoff at the idea of sitting down to plan out the nuances of your marriage, or at the idea of putting a system of rules into place to guide your relationship with your partner. But that’s Rockie’s fundamental advice when explaining how to get married!
To break up the patterns and behaviors of conflict, Rockie explains, it’s important that we learn to reframe the situation, falling back on a set of practical rules for guidance. In this episode, we’ll discuss what these systems can look like and how they can work in your relationship.
If Rockie’s words of wisdom are really hitting home for you, let us know how you start working the advice into your relationship. Or, if you have insights of your own to share, we’d love to hear from you as well!
