Creating Safe Spaces for the Conversations We Aren't Having

Listen Later

Join host Allison KT for this conversation with special guest a mental health activist, Dior Vargas about having the conversations we *aren't* having.

In 2014, Dior noticed a gap in seeing BIPOC individuals in her research about mental illness and this lead to the creation of The People of Color & Mental Illness Photo Project which has since lead to features in The New York Times, Forbes, Jezebel, USA Today, and MTV News. In this episode we talk about finding the strength to lead the conversations people aren't having, and how to be in those spaces in a safe and re-affirming way.

Hear candid conversation about balancing mental health with leaving a legacy and walk away with skills for listening and stepping into your own types of advocacy.
