In society today, we often find ourselves being pulled in so many different directions, we don’t really know which way is the right way. We tend to put our attention on the things screaming at us the loudest. Using the old adage of “the squeaky wheel gets the oil.”
Most men want to make a difference with their lives...they want to make an impact...leave a legacy...contribute to making the world better. But...men are failing...in their inner lives...jumping right past their spiritual, personal, marital and familial relationships directly to their work lives...mainly because their work is where they have their identity, the one area where they get the most affirmation for their contributions.
If that sounds like you… if you keep telling yourself that you need to prioritize better. If you know, deep down on the inside, that you are letting your relationship with God slip… If you are feeling sense of guilt or regret because you are so busy and tired all of the time and the most precious things in life, your family and your relationship with God, is being put on the back burner… if any of this sounds even remotely familiar…then you will want to pay attention today!
Today, we will be talking with Russel De Voss about “SPACE” (not the final frontier kind)!
Russel De Vos has been on our program before. He shared how he grew his church in Bend, Oregon from just a handful of people to over 1500 in only three years! Praise God! But, the pressures of the job and some other things led his eventual defeat. Not focusing on God, not focusing on his family, cost him the church and almost his family.
Since that time, he and his wife, Heather, have worked through the trying times and are now happier than ever. They serve together and are now helping others who are going the same troubles and helping them to overcome through the blood of the Lamb and their testimony. Praise God.
He and his wife work with parents who usually have teenage sons that are typically in trouble. Trouble with the law, on drugs, etc., many who may have been sent to boarding schools and “teen challenge” programs.
Russell also is a broadcaster on our radio station, Evangelism Radio, every single day of the week, from 12 noon to 1pm ET at www.evangelismradio.com. “Evangelism Radio,”
Russel is a Certified Life Coach, a teacher and speaker with the John Maxwell Team and the Institute for Professional Coaching and is the founder of the Catalyst Coaching Program.
Help me welcome back to the program, Russell De Vos! Praise God for you brother! Thank you for coming back on and catching us up on all that the Lord has been doing in your life and ministry! I appreciate it!
For those that may not have heard our prior interview over a year ago, tell us in your own words, “Who is Russell De Vos?”
You teach about how to deal with anger management and what you learned about dark thought patterns projected on others. With you, it was towards your wife and kids. Can you tell us about this and what you learned?
A lot of parents have resorted to nagging and complaining about their kids in order to try and get them to behave a certain way. But you have developed a program that will guide parents to try a little different approach, called “S.P.A.C.E.”
