Our Modern thinking tells us that we experience reality through the senses and the mind and yoga shifts the focus...instead believing that all matter exists so that our consciousness can experience it.
We struggle and suffer (dukham) when we become overly attached to matter, we loose our connection to our consciousness and this becomes our standard operating mode in daily life.
