Are you ready to navigate transitions and create an encore life? That's exactly what we're exploring on this podcast! Unfortunately, I am taking a brief sabbatical to care for my 97-year-old mother. But don't worry, this isn't the end of our journey together - it's a transition that I'm eager to share and learn from.
While the podcast takes a short nap, I'll be maintaining our connection with weekly newsletters and bite-sized social media posts. This episode marks both an end and a beginning, a stepping stone into something new. I'm sharing the reason behind my pause - a transition that's personally significant and a lesson in adaptation.
But remember, with an encore life, you can create value beyond just winning the next pickleball game. You can work on something you love, whenever and wherever you want! And if you're still keen on unraveling transitions and creating an encore life, you can head over to my website - www.lynnfriesth.com. We've got loads of past podcasts, my newsletter, and you can also stay connected through LinkedIn or Instagram.

Today, we’re listening to a replay of one of our favorite episodes with John Tarnoff.
Tune in to listen here → http://www.lynnfriesth.com/podcast1/224
As Boomers, we have to constantly reinvent ourselves, just like companies do. And one of the most effective ways to do that is to pull together different pieces of ourselves to create something new. Reinvention doesn’t come from nothing. It comes from seeing ourselves in a new light.
John Tarnoff had a long career in the entertainment business. After his tech startup went bust, he decided to go back to school to earn a Master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology – a branch of behavioral psychology that focuses on self-responsibility and self-forgiveness as pathways to healing and change.
Now, fifteen years later, as a career coach, author, and speaker, his mission is to support professionals over 50 – to redefine, build and sustain second-act careers beyond traditional retirement. John wrote a book on this called Boomer Reinvention, How To Create Your Dream Career Over 50.

We’ve all attended a presentation only to leave and immediately forget everything we’d learned. Why does this happen? Likely, the presenter wasn’t interactive, didn’t make the presentation fun for everyone, and didn’t tell stories. These common mistakes make the audience bored and unlikely to retain any information.
Go here to listen → http://www.lynnfriesth.com/podcast1/221
On the other hand, when presenters connect to the right energy, connect with their audiences, and perform their presentations, the impact is amazing. Both the presenter and the audience members enjoy themselves and are left with a powerful takeaway.
In this episode, I am talking with Rick Davis of the Davis Presentation Group about more strategies for giving effective presentations.
Rick can help you find ways to CONNECT to positive sources, PLAY with ideas and interests that energize you and make you come alive, and PERFORM in the role you were always meant to portray.

Willpower alone will never lead to success. It certainly won’t help you create a successful Encore Career. You need more than willpower–you need habits.
Go here to listen → http://www.lynnfriesth.com/podcast1/220
Today, I want to talk all about healthy habits and how to implement them. To help me do so, I’m going back over some ideas from the study, “Longevity and the New Journey of Retirement” by Edward Jones and AgeWave. They talk about the stages of retirement and the disorientation that comes with it.
When we retire, we disrupt the habits of work we've had for 30-40 years. All of a sudden, we’re launched into a new environment. Additionally, in corporate life, you had a level of drive. You pushed through things and made it work. In your Encore Career, however, you only have so much drive.
All of this explains why we have to depend on routines, checklists, and habits to help support us as we create our new Encore Career. Tune in to learn how!

Today, we are going to be talking with Chelsea Brinkley. I have known and admired Chelsea for several years now and she is a very smart and amazing person. Every day, she helps entrepreneurs and freelancers create efficient businesses so they can create the life they desire on their own terms.
Go here to listen → http://www.lynnfriesth.com/podcast1/216
In 2016, Chelsea and her husband decided to leave their corporate jobs and become full-time remote workers. They wanted the freedom to be able to travel often, work from wherever they were, and live where they wanted. They ultimately wanted to enjoy life and not have to wait for retirement to do all those things. Chelsea’s desire to create life on her own terms inspired what she does for other entrepreneurs now.
If you’re an entrepreneur who needs to get some systems and processes in place, have questions about how to work best with remote team members, or need to delegate some work to a virtual executive assistant, today’s interview will be of great help to you. In this episode, Chelsea shares great ideas for people developing encore careers to get productive in a great way. She is a pleasure to know and work with and I’m sure you will enjoy this conversation with her!
