  • Our Primeval Prologue
This sermon establishes Genesis as one big genealogy with Genesis 1 through 11 as a foundational prologue that defines the universal human condition and spiritual heritage. It outlines four key theological realities: God's good creation, the entrance of sin, the broken state of the world, and the promise of restoration through Christ. The preacher emphasizes that understanding this primordial history is essential for grasping the rest of the biblical narrative. The message transitions from universal origins to the specific call of Abraham, identifying him as the father of faith for all believers. Ultimately, the sermon invites listeners to live by faith within God's redemptive plan amidst a fallen world. (VaultAI Generated Summary)

  • The Plague of Frogs
AI Generated Summary: The sermon examines the second plague of frogs in Exodus, interpreting it as a divine judgment against Egyptian idols and a demonstration of God's absolute sovereignty over creation. It highlights the parallel between the multiplication of frogs and the Israelites, showing that human efforts cannot thwart God's purposed plans for His people. The preacher contrasts Pharaoh's temporary, insincere repentance with the need for a true mediator to approach a holy God. This Old Testament pattern points forward to Jesus Christ, who serves as the unique and effective mediator between God and humanity through His sacrificial death. The message concludes by offering hope to believers that their salvation is secure because no power can stop God's redemptive work in Christ.

  • Ambassadors for Christ
This sermon outlines the believer's responsibility to share the gospel, drawing primarily from 2 Corinthians 5:14-20. The preacher identifies three key aspects of this duty: motivation through Christ's love, transformation into a new creation, and the role as an ambassador representing Jesus to the world. Emphasizing that salvation brings a radical change in perspective, the message urges Christians to live distinctively and actively witness to lost sinners. The central appeal is for believers to fulfill their obligation by presenting God's offer of reconciliation to others with urgency and integrity.

  • Seek First the Kingdom
The sermon explores the biblical command to prioritize spiritual wealth over material accumulation, using Matthew 6 to illustrate that anxiety stems from serving two masters. By examining the futility of hoarding earthly riches and the reliability of God's provision for creation, the text argues that believers must fix their spiritual sight on divine truth rather than worldly concerns. The message emphasizes that true security is found not in financial planning but in seeking God's kingdom first, which guarantees all true needs will be met. This perspective shifts the focus from temporary earthly comforts to eternal treasures stored in heaven. Ultimately, the message calls for a single-minded devotion to God, freeing the heart from the paralysis of worry about the future.

  • Living Near the End
Living Near the End (1Pet. 4:7) The sermon expounds on 1 Peter 4:7, emphasizing that the nearness of the end of all things demands a disciplined and sober Christian life. It argues that history is not random but moves toward a divine consummation where Christ returns to judge and restore creation. Believers are commanded to maintain a sound mind, avoiding vague spirituality, daydreaming, and emotional excess by grounding their thoughts in biblical truth. This spiritual sanity enables watchful prayer, which serves as the primary response to suffering and the urgency of eternity. Ultimately, recognizing that the present world is passing away should motivate Christians to live faithfully, seriously, and with hope for the coming kingdom.

  • Judgment and Mercy
In the last half of Genesis chapter 18 we see a reminder of the Lord's love for Abraham expressed in His covenant promises to him and God's explaining His purposes to him. Abraham in turn expresses his love for God in his regard for the Lord's honor and compassion even in judgment. Abraham reflects the Lord's kindness by negotiating with God to spare the city of Sodom, where his nephew Lot lives. There is a back-and-forth dialog between the Lord and Abraham as he tests the limits of God's mercy. The Lord spared Lot from the righteous judgment on Sodom, but it is clear from later revelation that the city had a deep and abiding influence on Lot and his family even though he "felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds" (2 Peter 2:8). The Lord is rescuing His people through the gospel from this wicked world, and we are grateful that His mercy is extended to us.
