  • The Wages of Sin, Part 2: Things Get worse Before They Get Better
The sermon examines God's response to the fall in Genesis 3, arguing that the curses pronounced on Adam, Eve, and the serpent serve a remedial rather than merely punitive purpose. It posits that God delays immediate comprehensive relief to cultivate spiritual formation and holiness through the process of suffering and discipline. The text highlights the theological framework of dispensationalism, viewing the post-fall world as a distinct administration of God's government where humanity retains responsibility despite the brokenness of creation. By analyzing the specific curses regarding labor, childbirth, and the enmity between the seed and the serpent, the message emphasizes that pain is a necessary crucible for producing the fruit of righteousness. Ultimately, the sermon encourages believers to view their current struggles as part of a divine strategy that yields an eternal weight of glory, rather than seeking only swift escape from the valley of the shadow of death.

  • The Eternal kingdom
This sermon provides a comprehensive overview of the future aspects of God's kingdom, focusing on five sequential events that will occur at the end of history. It begins with the second coming of Christ, described as a powerful and authoritative return that coincides with the great resurrection of all human beings. The teaching then details the final judgment, where Jesus sits on an earthly throne to judge both the righteous and the wicked, distinguishing between the believer's reward and the unbeliever's eternal punishment. Following this, the sermon explains the dissolution of the current universe and the creation of new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. The central message emphasizes that the eternal kingdom is not a static state but a dynamic reality of increasing government and peace, urging believers to live with an eternal perspective that drives their daily choices and holy conduct.

  • Psalm 24 - "Christ's Hegemony"
The kingship of Christ over all is a settled fact. Nothing and no one can ever usurp his throne. We live in Christ's world and so His rule dictates the order of all things. The world has always been His by way of creation, yet now it is also His through redemption. Who can ascend the hill of the LORD? The God-man Jesus Christ. He is the only One who could make the climb up the mountain on His own merit, making a way for us into the very presence of God. Christ is the Creator, Redeemer, and King who is reconciling all things to Himself. The charge is first: to acknowledge that you are not your own. You live under Christ the King! So lift up the gates of your heart so that the King of glory may come in. Open the doors of your life to see His rule over every part of your life. Then when you have taken hold of the freedom found in Christ, you are able to truly enjoy God's good creation with thankfulness, knowing every good gift is from above. "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."

  • Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! - Psalm 146
The Book of Psalms ends with a crescendo of praise– five psalms of hearty and uplifting doxology. This reflects something of the trajectory of the entire Scriptures as well as of God's great plan of redemption for all creation. In the end, it will all be unadulterated praise to God in glory. But the final five psalms encourage us not to wait until then to praise the Lord. Instead, they give us good reason and call upon us to praise him now from the depths of our souls as long as we live. Would you please pray with me that the Lord might do just that among us through this series– that he would lift our hearts and set free any captive part of our souls to praise and worship him in spirit and truth.
