In Episode 27 of Creative Evolution, host Josi J sits down with her longtime friend P Cha$e. He grew up on Knoxville's East Side, where soccer was one of the few outlets available to him growing up. He found his way into music through West African drumming as a teenager, and by his mid-teens he was writing, producing, and selling his own CDs out of his trunk, years before that hustle became a mainstream story. He came up in the early-to-mid two thousands Knoxville rap scene, producing for CJ Entertainment and running in the same circles as Starlito before he made it big. He formed the group Gangsters On Board and wrote the group's debut album himself, then went on to produce the community mixtape What You Don't Know Won't Hurt You, recorded entirely on his mother's computer. He is the founder of the streetwear brand It's Straight, and the friend who first brought Josi J into a recording studio, introducing her to the very musicians who would go on to become Josi J and Dessert.
