Brooke McNamara is author of Bury the Seed and Feed Your Vow, and is co-director of Eunice Embodiment, which offers cutting-edge performances, embodiment education and creative practice workshops and retreats. She is passionate about teaching poetry meditation and creative practice. She has this to say about Zen:
"There's a saying in Zen that exhaustion is a friend of Zen, because we can get so tired that we just have a spontaneous moment of insight – we're not trying so hard. And the same thing with creativity, I think. . . . there's a certain kind of softening of effort that can really help with catching those moments that we want to catch."
