Once again, I burned my dinner because I was working on a painting and lost track of time. #StarvingArtist #Artist #ArtistLife #ArtistsLife #Creative #Absentminded #susandirende #creativelife #fyp #foryou

The secret key to showing up every day for your daily creative practice is not finding the will to start, but having the willpower to stop when you have accomplished your daily task. It is the limitation that will set you free. #DailyPractice #ArtPractice #Creativity #Maker #Art #Artist #FYP #Inspiration #fyp #foryou #Transformation #CreativeTransformation #LifeSkill #LifeSkills #DailyArt #Discipline #SelfDiscipline #ArtisticDiscipline #ShowingUp #ShowingUpForYourArt #CreativeOfTikTok #ArtistsOfTikTok, #WritersOfTikTok

So there are 4 slots available in the artist/writer residency in Tuscany this summer— one in each of four different weeks starting June 16, June 23, July 28 and August 4. The September dates haven’t filled up yet so that’s a possibility if you want to come in September. Message me your email so I can send you the details or go to my writer website, susandiRende dot ink, where you can read about it and then send me an email from the link there if you’re interested. This is going to be first come first reserved from the date and time of the deposit. #ArtistResidency #WriterResidency #Tuscany #ArtistInItaly #ArtistResidencyInItaly #TuscanSummer #SummerInTuscany #writing #writer #livethedream #susandirende

If you’re having difficulty showing up for your creative self every day, or as much as you’d like, here’s a tip for my own experience of transformation. #Creativity #Transformation #CreativeTransformation #LifeSkill #LifeSkills #DailyArt #Discipline #SelfDiscipline #ArtisticDiscipline #ShowingUp #ShowingUpForYourArt #CreativeOfTikTok #ArtistsOfTikTok, #WritersOfTikTok ##fyp##foryou##foryoupage

The only problem with letting your unconscious solve a hole in your plot is that it most likely will reveal the solution to you just as you’re falling asleep. If you don’t get it down, it’ll be buried by morning. So I wake myself up enough to dictate some notes and close my eyes. Either I’ll fall asleep now peacefully or I’ll get the next idea and this could rinse and repeat for a while. But in the end, I’m always glad I did it. #WritingLife #Writing #Plot #amwriting #WritingPlot #firstdraft #PlotHole #writinganovel #writingprocess #hypnogogia #susandirende #knifewitch #creativity #creativeinspiration

I love pantsing as a writer because it allows me to be as surprised by the unfolding story as I write it as the reader is when they read it. #Writing #Plot #Pantsing #plottingvspantsing #WritingLife #CreativeLife #WritingANovel #fyp #foryou #WritingAdvice #WritingTips #writinganovel #susandirende

Nothing makes me get off social media faster than feeling like I’m being played. The push to make posts that generate interest in a topic only to then force you to read the caption to find out what it is, often burying the information way down on the bottom of caption just to keep you watching longer… It’s a theft of my time. There’s no respect for the value of my attention. It turns me into a mark being conned, and it pi**es me off. It not only makes me scroll past, it makes me close the app and do something else. I’m going to brush my dog now. #ticksmeoff #readthecaption #dontdothis #socialmediatrend #socialmediatrends #susandirende

“Aim yourself like an arrow and let go.” This is one of my favorite quotes. It’s by Leonardo da Vinci, the original Renaissance man. He did everything, and he did it with focus, curiosity, and without regard to what other people thought. #Creativity #LeonardoDaVinci #DaVinci #RenaissanceMan #RenaissanceWoman #JackOfAllTrades #artist #ArtistLife #CreativeInspiration #Coaching #ArtistCoaching #ArtistEncouragement #Encouragement #Author #Writinglife #Writer #WomenWriters #WomanWriter #womencreators #womancreator #womenwritersofinstagram #WritingCommunity #lifeasanartist #over60 #awriterslife #artistlife #quote #quotes #quotesoftheday #quoteoftheday

That feeling in the middle of creating that feels so heavy, when it feels like your great idea is turning out embarrassingly bad, that is the starting point for your best work. ##CreativeJourney##ArtisticProcess##StorytellingStruggles##CreativeStruggle##ArtistsLife##OvercomingArtBlocks##CreativeInspiration##TheArtistsWay##Storytellers##FromFailureToArt
