This episode we bring you another WFTB Creator Spotlight. Chris is joined by Clay from the
“Ranger Alliance” podcast to interview Mat Groom. Mat was the co-creator and writer of
“Self/Made” from Image Comics and has served as co-writer on “The Rise of Ultraman” and
“The Trials of Ultraman” for Marvel Comics, as well as “Tales of the Dark Multiverse: Teen
Titans - The Judas Contract” and “DC’s Crimes of Passion” for DC Comics. Mat is also the co-
host of the podcast “Ranger Danger” where he and his co-host Michael Busuttil explore the
Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers series. He has recently launched a Kickstarter for his new
graphic novel from Image comics entitled “Inferno Girl Red” with his artist and co-creator Erica
D’Urso, colorist Igor Monti, and editor Kyle Higgins. Chris and Clay talk to Mat about his
career, his experiences writing for Marvel and DC, the inspirations that led to his creator owned
work, the development behind “Inferno Girl Red” and what the future may hold when the
Kickstarter concludes.
