God is good, but we are constantly tempted to believe otherwise.

There is a lot of confusion among American Christians regarding the kind of "awards" awaiting us someday in heaven. Some preachers even teach getting rewards (like material possesions or riches) as a motivation for Christian behavior. Is this what Jesus is talking about when he teaches the importance of "laying up treasure in heaven"?
