Jason Walters has played golf his entire life. As a young golfer, he quickly became one of Memphis' best junior amateurs. He then went on to play golf at Georgia Tech University alongside Stewart Cink, David Duval, and Michael Nicklaus. After college, he gave the professional tour a try, eventually returning to Memphis to start a successful career in finance. Jason and his wife Nicole recently started an investment company called GGNJ and they currently have real estate developments in Collierville and Germantown. I enjoyed diving into their work at ggnj.co and encourage you to visit their site. Jason and I had a great time recording this episode as he shares many amazing golf stories including one about Tiger Woods and another about Jack Nicklaus. Enjoy!
In this episode, I got to visit "Golf the Yard" in Arlington, TN and interview co-owners Bill Powell and Trip Powell. This facility is an awesome setup for golf fans. It has a Track-man golf simulator, tv, and indoor putting green. Best of all, they give members of Spring Creek Ranch 50% off simulation experiences. Bill shares with us the logistical side of their business, while Trip focuses on the fun that can be had at "Golf the Yard." Visit www.golftheyard.com to make a tee time or reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions.
In this episode, I spend time with Jim Badovinac, a member with his own mantra. After a 30-year career at Fedex, Jim became the VP of LTL for Green Mountain Technology here in Memphis. GMT’s growth is impressive, and has most notably been recognized on the Inc. 500 list for fastest growing companies 3 years in a row. There is no sign of letting up any time soon as Jim’s role is to develop and launch GMT’s LTL solution. We’ll hear about that in this podcast. But it’s Jim’s personal mantra "LiveTwelve" that I’m most excited to dive into.

Robert spends time with Spencer McDaniel, a member who excels at multi-tasking. As a father of four, professional long drive athlete, leader of the fast-growing ATC Fitness chain, and co-founder of a golf shaft company, Spencer shares how he’s able to get it all done while still enjoying time at the Ranch. In addition, Spencer will give us some tips on how to focus on fitness despite having a busy schedule.
Did you know the word Hazard is no longer used in the Rules of Golf? As Head Professional Matt Brock describes it, H#z%rd is a new cuss word when it comes to the 2019 Rules Changes. And that's not the only change that's been made. Robert & Matt discuss these changes in detail, while Matt also provides an inside look into his playing accomplishments this year. Stick around for the entire episode and find out who Matt wishes he could play a round of golf with, what clubs he plays, and what his favorite hole at the Ranch is.
We were able to find an old VHS interview of our founder, Dr. David Meyer & golf course architect/legend Jack Nicklaus. We converted the file for use on our Creek Media podcast. In this interview, Dr. Meyer & Mr. Nicklaus provide some insight into the design & creation of Spring Creek Ranch while sitting in the middle of the first fairway. Head's up though, in the first minute of the podcast there are some audio issues from the conversion process.
We want to be a part of our members' lives all the time, not just while they are here at Spring Creek Ranch. The Creek Media Podcast is going to feature Spring Creek Ranch discussions, member interviews, swing tips, and more, providing our members the opportunity to plug in to their club any time they want.
