Creekside Podcast

One of my great friends and mentors, Tom Petry from Become 1 and Film the Hunt, joins us today to talk cameras, and outdoor video education. Tom has been in the outdoor industry and teaching outdoor video education for over 20 years. If you're looking to improve your skills as a videographer or photographer, check out FILM THE HUNT.

We sat down with John from Leatherwood Outdoors and chatted about everything rattlesnake related. This was a great conversation that is packed full of education and facts that not alot of people know about snakes.

"All you guys do is hunt all the time."

This is statement that we get over and over and over again. In episode 12, we dive into the specifics of how and why that statement is in fact TRUE.

Today we dive into social media and the pros and cons of it in the hunting world.

Virginia Public kicked our butts this year. Overall, we had an awesome trip though. It is always nice to get a big group of turkey hunters together for the first trip of the year. We never judge the success of a trip based on dead turkeys, or we would be often disappointed. Virgina is an awesome place with some great scenery and even better hunting. It was a great start to turkey season and were going to keep on rolling with it.

We sat down with one of my good friends and one of my biggest mentors Don Wheland, to talk about how turkey hunting used to be. Don and his brother Norm are probably two of the most knowledgeable people I've ever met when it comes to anything outdoor related. They grew up during a time where hunting was a little different than it is today and we dove into the details of how that looked in this episode.

Jordan McCall from  @TheJourneyOutdoors  joins us tonight to talk turkeys and specifically, how him and his crew tackles planning and executing public land, out of state turkey trips.

We traveled west a few hours to meet up with good friends Tyler, Tanner, and Braeden to talk about anything and everything involving traveling out of state to turkey hunt. Anyone thinking about traveling to a new state, whether it be on state away or across the country, this is the episode for you.

Today we dive into pre-season turkey scouting, using trail cameras for turkeys, and what all we pack in our turkey vests.

Tyler has been laying down arguably some of the best camera work in the turkey woods for over 10 years now. Today we dive into his camera setup and talk tips and tactics that he uses to get the epic footage that him and his crew have been pumping out on the BangLand series for the last 4 seasons.
