So many resolutions we make end up dying prematurely from either forgetfulness or regretfulness. “Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him Immanuel, which translated means, 'God with us.’”

Jesus was God born in a body, and Pastor Steve presents 3 reasons why this matters. “God with us” was a promise that was foretold (Isaiah 7:14), a presence that was factual (Matthew 1:21-23), and for the purpose of forgiveness (John 3:16-17).

Steve’s 15 minute message is followed by Creekside’s Christmas program, an all-ages presentation in word, song, dance and art celebrating “God with us”—from creation in Eden, to the cradle in Bethlehem, to the cross at Calvary, to the future culmination of the Kingdom and glory of God.

Living out our Christian faith doesn’t come from behavior modification, but a new creation—trading the “old self” for a "new self.” From Ephesians 4:17-32, Pastor Steve brings out two tactics Paul uses to inspire us theologically and instruct us practically to walk in a manner consistent with our new identity in Christ. Steve’s message follows several announcements.

Unity plus diversity of gifts or roles in the church leads to maturity in the faith. Preaching from Ephesians 4:7-16, Pastor Steve builds onto the unity Paul teaches in the first part of chapter 4 to uncover the contribution of diversity and the consequence of maturity in the equation, revealing what it means to “walk worthy” in relationship to others in the body of Christ. Steve’s message follows a brief introduction of and interview with Creekside’s new youth pastor Jesse South.

In Ephesians 3:14-21, the apostle Paul transitions from teaching who we are in Christ to instruction on how to live in light of that truth. From Paul’s passionate prayer in this passage, Pastor Steve looks at three parts that reveal God’s desire for the church to know His love fully, grow in spiritual maturity in order to bring God glory. Steve’s message follows a time of worship led by Creekside’s Generation Jesus youth band and a prayer for Ryan and Mary Carter for their upcoming move to Canada.

What had at the time been concealed, the apostle Paul revealed that all believers, Jew or Gentile, “are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.” Pastor Steve’s message from Ephesians 3:1-13 shows how this mystery revelation serves to enlighten, encourage, and embolden followers of Christ. Steve’s message follows several announcements and a farewell to the Packer family.
