  • Mark, Week 15: Lost Connection
    Nick Reed :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, August 10, 2014
    Often we lose the connection between the situation we are in right now and what God wants to teach us from it. Nick Reed teaches from Mark 8:1-21, where Jesus' disciples lost the connection between His provision in the past with their present uncertainty. Nick challenges us toward prayer, and utilizing three things that Jesus' disciples did not even have: the Holy Spirit, the complete Word of God, and the church. The message follows an announcement about Awana and Celebrate Recovery.

  • Mark, Week 14: Tale of Two Healings
    Kyle Clarkson :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, August 3, 2014
    Our CONNECT service begins with an announcement of Vance Hahn's addition to our Deacon board. As a brief ministry spotlight, Tristan Guthrie then introduces God's work through For The Nations Refugee Outreach in Dallas, TX, a Christian ministry to the tens of thousands of refugees in the area. Kyle Clarkson follows with a message from Mark 7:24-37, where Jesus heals an outsider who came to Him boldly, and a fellow Jew, whose need Jesus also knew. We serve a Savior who serves us by opening eyes, ears, mouths, and hearts, and meets each of us where we need Him the most.

  • Mark, Week 13: Self Check
    Nick Reed :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, July 27, 2014
    Self-check: How can the desire to lead a polished and perfect life lead to an identity crisis? Nick Reed preaches from Mark 7, sharing his own past identity crisis and urging a self-examination with the truth that a Christian's need to do good is replaced with a desire to do good, and that we shouldn't hold ourselves and others to standards that don't matter to God.

  • Mark, Week 12: When Traditions Become Chains
    Tim O'Byrne :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, July 20, 2014
    "These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. They worship Me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’ You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.” (‭Mark‬ ‭7‬:‭6-8‬) Traditions can be great, but they can also hinder. Tim O'Byrne preaches from the beginning of Mark 7 on the traditions that get in the way of seeking God's will together and accomplishing more for the kingdom than we are able to bound by tradition.

  • Mark, Week 11: Spiritual Amnesia
    Alan Crim :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, July 13, 2014
    How's your memory? How quickly do we forget the goodness of God in our lives? As you might retrace your steps when trying to recall something, Alan Crim takes us backwards through three scenes recorded in Mark 6:30-56. At times, Jesus' disciples failed to recognize Jesus and remember what He's done. Alan's message seeks to reflect on and reconnect our minds (and hearts) to the Savior of forgetful people. This message follows a brief farewell and prayer for the Temperley family before their move to Arizona.
