    I was really excited to sit down and talk with Dana because we are both from Niagara Falls. It's not everyday you get to meet and work with people in film who are from Niagara.
    Dana Calanan has worked in the costume department as a Tailor/ Seamstress for over 20 years. She has worked in both Broadway and TV & Film. Some projects she has worked on are "The Phantom of the Opera", "Mamma Mia", ""Marshall and the Golden Globe award-winning series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel".
    In this episode, she explains what a tailor is, what a typical day looks like, how often she works with the actors and what kind of skills you should have for the job. She also shares a funny interaction she had with actor Josh Gad aka Olaf in "Frozen".

  • Kyle Mecca on being a Local Casting Director and Making a Feature Film Right out of College
    On this first episode of the podcast, I sat down with Kyle Mecca, who is a local casting director and non- union AD in Buffalo, NY. He also wrote and directed his own feature film "Dwelling" right after college.
    In this episode, Kyle shares how he began feeling depressed and confused right after he graduated college due to the uncertainty of finding work in the film industry. In spite of that, he began creating short films with other local filmmakers and decided to write a script for his own full-length film.
    Throughout the episode, we discuss how Kyle raised over 40k for his film "Dwelling" and how he got it distributed and sold into Walmart stores across the Country. He also shares how he became a local director, what their role and responsibilities are and what the standard SAG rate is for actors.
