    Brig. Gen. Paul Kennedy, the deputy commander of the 3D Marine Expeditionary Brigade (III MEB) transitions support from U.S. service members to Armed Force of the Philippines, Colonel Emmanuel and Captain Roy V. Trinidad of the Armed Forces Philippines. The transition took place in support of Operation Damayan to provide humanitarian relief to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific maintain significant capability forward deployed throughout the Asia-Pacific ready to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.   • C-17 Load
    MANILA, Republic of the Philippines (Nov. 24, 2013) - Airmen from the 249th Airlift Squadron of the Air National Guard work with airment from the Philippine Air Force's 355th Aviation Engineer Wing to load heavy equipment onto a C-17A "Globemaster III" at Villamore Air Base. The 355th is traveling to Tacloban to help with reconstruction efforts. The Philippine government is closely coordinating ongoing efforts including search and rescue, supply drops and personnel airlifts, with military and civilian organizations. The mission of NEPMU 6 is to maximize the mission readiness of operational forces in the Pacific theater by providing specialized public health services that enhance forth health protection.     SUPER TYPHOON HAIYAN IS ONE OF THE MOST DEVASTATING STORMS TO EVER HIT THE PHILIPPINES. MARINE CORPS FORCES PACIFIC WERE THE FIRST RESPONDERS FOR THE U-S. TROOPS ALREADY ON THE GROUND IN THE ASIA-PACIFIC REGION WERE CLOSEST TO THE AFFECTED AREAS IN THE PHILIPPINES AND BEGAN MOBILIZING EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES IMMEDIATELY TO AID PEOPLE IN THE REGION.
