During a House floor debate, Representative Jasmine Crockett implied that a Trump administration official, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, and other Republicans had received donations from the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, but it was quickly clarified that the donations were from a different individual with the same name. Rep. Crockett was arguing against a Republican attempt to censure Delegate Stacey Plaskett for her past communications with the notorious Epstein. Crockett stated she had her team "dig in very quickly" and found other donations to Republicans from "somebody named Jeffrey Epstein," listing names including "Mitt Romney, the NRCC, Lee Zeldin, George Bush, WinRed, McCain-Palin, Rick Lazio".
