Receive or Reject | Mark 11:27–12:12

Jesus leaves no room for neutrality. In His confrontation with the religious leaders and the Parable of the Tenants, Jesus exposes what is ultimately at stake: everyone must either receive Him for who He truly is or reject Him.

In Mark 11:27–12:12, we see the desire of God, the patience of God, and the severity of God. God's abundant grace is meant to produce fruit in His people, and His remarkable patience continually calls sinners to repentance. But His patience should never be mistaken for indifference toward sin. God has sent His beloved Son, and nothing remains when Christ is finally refused.

All Leaves, No Fruit | Mark 11:12–25

In Mark 11, Jesus encounters a fig tree covered in leaves but bearing no fruit—and then enters a temple filled with religious activity but lacking true worship. Through both, Jesus exposes the danger of outward religion without inward reality. God is not looking for the appearance of faithfulness, but for lives transformed by genuine faith in Christ.

But Jesus does more than condemn a fruitless temple. He announces its end and points toward something greater: access to God, forgiveness of sin, and true worship will now be found through Jesus himself. This passage calls us to ask whether our faith is merely leaves—or whether, by God's grace, Jesus finds the fruit of repentance, worship, and Christlikeness in our lives.

The King We Need | Mark 11:1–11

In Mark 11:1–11, Jesus enters Jerusalem as the long-awaited King. But he is unlike the kings and rulers of this world. He is the Prophesied King, fulfilling God's promises, and the Saving King, coming to rescue his people from their greatest enemies: sin, death, and Satan.

The crowds cried, "Hosanna! Save us!" but they didn't fully understand the salvation they truly needed. This passage invites us to trust the King God promised, submit to his rule, and receive the salvation only Jesus can give.
