For today’s episode, we chat Ajax Regional Councillor Sterling Lee.
In the heart of Durham Region, the Town of Ajax is a progressive, diverse and vibrant, waterfront community.

The name “Ajax” was chosen in honour of one of the three ships that in 1939 had engaged and routed the German battleship Graf Spee at the Battle of the River Plate near Uruguay.

Today, this unique history lives on in many forms. All around Ajax, you’ll find reminders of the Town’s early beginnings – historic sites and landmarks, each with unique stories of times long ago.

Each new street of the Town is named in honour of the officers and crew that served on the Ajax, Exeter and Achilles ships.

Ajax is a unique place where people, nature and history connect and Ajax Council and staff welcome you to experience all that we have to offer!

For today’s episode, we are honoured to be speaking with Haines Junction Mayor Diane Strand

The Village of Haines Junction lies on the edge of a vast and spectacular wilderness and is a gateway to the Kluane National Park and Reserve.

The Village of Haines Junction, commonly referred to as 'the Junction' by many of its 800+ residents, is situated at the intersection of the Haines and Alaska Highways. Residents call Haines Junction home for many reasons: from access to wilderness to the connection to land and ancestors, to being part of a community.

Surrounded by a beautiful and rugged landscape, Haines Junction is truly a wilderness town and offers exceptional outdoor experiences for visitors and residents alike.

For today's episode, we chat with Todd Bedore, Councillor for the City of Weyburn, Saskatchewan

Over 10,500 residents call Weyburn their home. Weyburn’s main economic base is comprised of agricultural service and shipping, oilfield exploration, manufacturing and processing, and business and industry services.

Weyburn’s rich soils have made for excellent grain farming in the area, helping make Weyburn the country’s highest volume inland grain handling centre. Well over half a million tons of grain pass through the Weyburn terminals each and every year.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Weyburn has a solid economic and community foundation on which new opportunities are built.
