My story on language learning..
I speak around 11 languages.. that includes 6 Indian and 5 foreign languages..like basic Chinese, Japanese German, Sinhala and Bahasa Indonesia,
I am Still learning languages ….it is a life long learning journey for me …
i would like to start with a famous quote..
Nelson Mandela quoted “if you talk to a man in a language he understands… and that goes to his head, but if you talk to him in his language ,it goes to his heart"
My main mission of my podcast is to encourage people to learning languages through knowledge sharing.. it is the art of learning a new skill. I would be elaborating on the same topic using learning of multiple languages as a medium. But the skill could be any ranging from sports, coaching, communication, functional skills and so on…
My story on language learning..
So, What triggered me to learn so many languages? any guesses?
my love for Language learning ,started when i was very young!
When I was a small kid in my village I saw a bird chirping, then I felt that that the bird was actually trying to communicate with me. I being young and pure from heart did not know how to go about it. So I went and asked my Father, is it trying to speak to me? Yes it is trying to speak to you but in different language was his response. I then imagined myself flying along with many birds without belonging to any nationality or cultural binding. From then on, I began listening to foreign radio, and trust I had no clue what was being said on the other side of the radio, I did not give up. Slowly up steadily I started picking up few words, then phrases and then finally a few sentences. Every time I started picking up few sentences from different languages I started feeling more equipped and more complete and I finally found a hobby that actually gave me a lot of purpose in this life….
To speak the process of learning as such
So, I am sure many of you would have tried to learn a new skill and failed. The point I am trying to emphasize is “failure”. People start learning when their motivation is high and as motivation drains off, then what happens? The learning stops and that’s the end. And it was not different for me when I began learning new languages, More over.. learning a new language requires starting from scratch every single time. You have to learn the alphabets, then combine them to form words, then combine words to form phrases, then speak sentences and Visualise and vocalise the words you are learning, Imagine the image of what it represents then finally you can communicate…
Greatest gift the Language learning has provided me is accomplishment in achieving …
People to people contact, bridging the gap between two culturals, regions and Contribute to improve diversity and inclusion were ever i work…
