In Christ there is great liberty, we live to serve the LORD and we have our being in Christ. Therefore living or dying we are the Lords and He will judge our motives as we strive not to judge others.
Paul emphasizes that love fulfills all of God’s requirements. “Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” (Verse 10) When we put on Christ, we are empowered to love others that in our fleshly selves we are not able to show love to.

Living to serve God means we must submit to the governing authorities. We are always to put God first in our lives, but we are also to be “Model Citizens”, modeling our Lord Jesus Christ who dwells within us. (“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven. Mat 5:16)

The markers of a true Christian are outlined here. Above all we are to love one another and care for those in need, not repaying back evil for evil but showing the love of Christ that is in us.

Serving God with the gifts that He has given us is a wonderful thing; but we must not get “Puffed Up”. To each He gives both gifts and grace. While the grace is the same for all, the gifts are different for each believer. We must use our gifts as He directs and to His glory.
