The Lord again laments Israel’s turning to dead idols and away from Him the Living God. Babylon’s false gods will not save them from the Lord’s servant Cyrus. Cyrus is the LORD’s Chosen Instrument. The LORD rules in the affairs of men (Dan 4:17). Isaiah tells of the future conversion of Gentiles and that God seeks those that will trust in Him and let Him be LORD of their lives.
