In response, God offered to grant whatever Solomon might ask of him. Solomon asked God for exactly what mattered most to God: that God would grant him wisdom to govern God's people well. God did, and the entire nation was blessed. We, too, are blessed when we seek God's will first, above our own selfish priorities.
