Rejoicing and celebration (i.e., joy) is serious business in the Bible. Joy is our strength and our destiny. God is infinitely joyful, and, because we are created in his image, we are made for joy. However, because of sin, we often miss out on joy or we fail to cultivate it. The discipline of celebration is designed to get our habits and spirits in line with why Christ died for us: for his joy and ours.
