God makes a promise to Abraham and his descendants that he intends to fulfill himself. God commands circumcision to be the sign of the covenant.

Because of our human tendency to shortcut divine promises through the flesh, we must labor to cultivate deeper trust in God's promises through prayer and the Spirit.

-It is therefore faith alone which justifies, and yet the faith which justifies is not alone.-

The law was never intended to give life. Life has always come through faith.

God establishes his unconditional covenant with Abram.

We do the trusting, God does the saving. Trust Him, He will take care of the rest.

The pope recently suggested that -Lead us not into temptation- would be better translated, -Don't let us fall into temptation.- What did Christ mean by this famous phrase in the Lord's Prayer-

Because God exalts his suffering Servant in atoning for our sins, we must believe in the gospel.

Since God causes his Servant to prevail, we must rely on God instead of ourselves.
