Daniel 11 paints a stark picture of warfare and turbulence that will ravage our history 'til the end

of time. But right in the very midst of it all -- in verses 32-33 --- a ray of hope shines forth! Did you

know that those verses are talking about you? Yes, you are "the people who know their God."

Is it not an astounding thing that the most hated bookin thge history of mankind --- despised and

banished and burned throughout the ages --- is still the worl'ds #1 best-seller? There's a reason for

that: God's awesome plan of salvation is there on its pages! And nothing ever really gets in its way!

Here in Daniel's final vision, the earthly kingdoms of sinful man rise and fall like a relentless tide,

all the way to the end ot time! But in the end, only one Kingdom will remain. Will you be part of it?

Daniel 10 contains one of the strangest passages in all the Bible: this heavenly Visitor's reference to

'princes' or 'powers' over the nations in Daniel's day, that try to oppose and obstruct the purposes

of God. These are not earthly powers, they are spiritual. And we are up against them too!

Last week we saw Daniel pouring out his heart to God in prayer and repentance for his people. The

seventy years ordained for their punishment was almost up. Would God now forgive and restore

them to their land? But the answer to Daniel's prayer went far beyond anything he had requested!

This morning wee see Daniel, fervently praying for the nation he loves ----- it's a beautiful prayer, that

captures the heart of God! And this morning we can learn a great deal from it: about how we can

pray and how we can make a difference in our world! Let's all take it to heart this morning...
