The Subtle Revolt — “Why Not Me?” (Numbers 12)    •    Miriam and Aaron envy Moses.    •    Pride hides behind fairness and comparison.    •    God reminds them: “I choose whom I choose.”    •    Moses’ greatness was humility — he thought of himself less. (C.S. Lewis) 2. The Earthquake of Self-Glory (Numbers 16)    •    Korah demands equality but craves control.    •    The ground opens — pride collapses.    •    Moses and Aaron intercede; Aaron stands “between the dead and the living.”    •    A picture of Jesus — our Mediator who stops sin’s plague. 3. The Trembling Ends at the Cross    •    At Calvary, the earth shakes again — not in judgment, but redemption.    •    Grace reverses gravity: the way up is down.    •    Jesus stoops low and is exalted high. (Phil. 2:5–11) Takeaway:Martin Luther said sin curves the soul inward.The Gospel turns us outward — toward God and others.The cross holds. The cross anchors. The cross saves.

Exodus 16:2-5, 27-35Episode 9 - October 12Big Idea: God doesn’t just get you out of slavery; he gets slavery out of you-through a process in the wilderness, provision that must be gathered, and a Father’s patient training. Opening PictureA pop‑up kitchen in a border town. Even before the power grid returns, a table appears and people are fed. God doesn’t only get you out of Egypt; He sets a table while you’re still in the wasteland. 1) GOD’S PEDAGOGY - Wilderness as a School (vv.2–3; Deut 8:2)Thesis: Freedom came fast; formation comes slow. You can get people out of Egypt in a day, but it takes years to get Egypt out of people.Illustrations: Butterfly struggle; detox nostalgia (“pots of meat”).Pastoral edge: Don’t despise the desert; this is where God grows weight/glory in you (2 Cor 4:17).Response: Expect God to surface what still enslaves you; name the “Egypts” you’re tempted to idealize. 2) GOD’S PROVISION - Bread That Must Be Gathered (vv.4–5, 31; Deut 8:3)Thesis: God provides; you still have to gather.A. Ingest Truth (Deut 8:3; Matt 4:4): Chew Scripture-like tea that steeps, not a quick dip.B. Develop Dependence (Matt 6:11): Daily manna - monthly miracle. “Daily bread, daily charge.” Tomorrow’s bread isn’t promised today.C. Practice Contentment & Generosity (Ex 16:16–18): Gathered individually, distributed communally (cafecito colada image).Diagnostics: What am I feeding my soul? If I’m in the Word, why isn’t it showing up as contentment and generosity? 3) GOD’S PATIENCE — Tests from a Father, Not a Prosecutor (vv.27–35; Deut 1:31; 8:5)Thesis: Israel fails; God keeps feeding—forty years. Salvation Is Bigger Than You ThinkIsrael saw only obstacles, but God offered freedom.Don’t stay chained to guilt, shame, or the past (Gal. 5:1; Rom. 8:1).Line: Shame is a chain—Jesus broke it at the cross. 2. Faith Means Moving ForwardGod said: “Tell the people to go forward” (Ex. 14:15).Faith steps out before the waters part (Heb. 11:29).Line: The obstacle is not your grave; it’s your gateway. 3. The Reversal

Exodus 12:22–42

Episode 7 - September 28

Big Idea: When the blood covers you, your story is reversed — judgment, status, and destiny.

1. What Should’ve Destroyed Me, Now Passes Over Me

God’s judgment touched every house in Egypt.

Israel was spared — not because they were better, but because they were covered.

Once your past condemned you, now the blood of Jesus acquits you.

2. What Once Held Me Down, Now Lifts Me Up

Pharaoh begged Israel to leave.

Egyptians who once enslaved them now gave them silver and gold.

Even what was meant to crush you can become what God uses to lift you.

3. What Began with Tears, Ends in Praise

After 430 years, Israel walked free.

The night of judgment became a night of celebration.

Because of the cross, your story doesn’t end in chains — it ends in freedom.

Conclusion

The cross looked like “Jesus defeated.”

But Easter revealed: “Jesus defeated death.”

Through faith in His great reversal, your story can be reversed too.

Declaration (say it together):

By faith in the Lamb, my story is reversed.
What should’ve destroyed me, now passes over me.
What once held me down, now lifts me up.
What began with tears, ends in praise.
Because Jesus defeated death, my story isn’t over.
